
The Director General and staff of the Anti-Corruption and Anti-Terrorism Agency (ACAT) extend heartfelt condolences to the family of Sir Garfield Sobers, and to the people of Barbados and the wider cricketing community, on the passing of one of the nation’s most distinguished sons.
Sir Garfield Sobers was more than an extraordinary cricketer. He was a national icon whose humility, integrity, discipline and unwavering commitment to excellence inspired generations of Barbadians and earned him the admiration of millions around the world. His achievements transcended sport, making him a symbol of national pride and a global ambassador for Barbados.
As our nation says goodbye to a legend, we also honour a man whose character, leadership and sportsmanship demonstrated the enduring values of perseverance, respect and service. Sir Garfield’s remarkable legacy will continue to inspire young people to pursue excellence with dedication and integrity, while reminding us all of the importance of representing our country with honour.
